A little sunshine...

Picture Winter: A Little Sunshine
Today, keep your eyes open for signs of the sun. Polka dots, symbols, colors, shiny things…whatever helps you remember that the sun will come out tomorrow (or sometime soon, no doubt). Find vibrant oranges, happy yellows, or even sunset reds in your objects. Coax out your own sunshine today and see what happens!

Even though the temperature barely reached 5 degrees today, there were lots of opportunities to see a little sun.

Breakfast clementines offered a little morning love (inspired by this photo)....

A dried blob of orange paint, intentionally left on my shoe after the last time I volunteered in Henry's classroom, was a sweet reminder of that day....

In my windowless office, Anna's painting on my wall provided a bright respite....

The sun glistened on the snow in our backyard....

And a still shot, inspired by this amazing photo...

But it seems that even in black and white (and this is no surprise), Anna radiated the most sunshine of all....

  1. Oh, I love your orange shot! And you are right, Anna (my nieces name, too) is definitely the brightest spot.

  2. Don't know how I missed the clementine photo in the gallery. Very creative way to deal with a difficult prompt in cold weather! I certainly struggled with it with little sun today!

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE YOUR SNOW SHOT! Would love to know how you took it. Great job!

All of your photos are wonderful.

  3. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I'm so glad you did because it brought me to yours, which is somehow even more lovely than the last time I stopped by. Your photos are extraordinary and your writing makes them come alive! (p.s. i'm swooning over the clementine hearts)

  4. Holy clementine!!! The hearts are spectacular, but the one against the contrasting blue is also unbelievable.

    Wonderful work!!!
