Picture the Holidays: All you need is love
It is snowing here. A lot. I love winter. And I love my family, all snuggled inside, as the snow falls outside. Nothing could be better!
Today I also discovered how to make my Christmas lights look like hearts in photos. Pretty cool trick.
Reverb10: Moment
Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (texture, smells, voices, noises, colors). (Author: Ali Edwards)
Pick a single moment? Yeah right. There are waaaaayyyyy too many to choose from. I'm a mom. These "alive" moments happen all the time. As moms, we live in a constant state of alive-ness. It's in the job description. At any time, we are alive AND (depending on the state of the kiddos), we are also overjoyed or overwhelmed or worried or grateful or frustrated or scared or awe-struck....Sometimes, all of these things are happening simultaneously (and yet we still manage to maintain our sanity!)
A laugh or a quiet cuddle, a tear or an unexpected hug from one of our little ones, and we are instantly transported to that place....That mama place. It's instinct. We recognize the beauty. We feel the love. And we are completely in the moment. We know it is "a moment."
And of course these moments happen with great frequency. They have to. It's the moments that keep us firmly grounded in our family - - they form our roots.
A life without moments, and I guarantee all of us women-folk would run screaming from our homes within the first 10 days post-partum....
Seriously.
