Picture the Holidays: Recharge
A day of pre-holiday madness can really take it out of you. Today I encourage you to tune in to your needs and when it's time to take a break, heed the call. A simple recharge is sometimes all it takes. You can take a breather a number of ways so capture how you do it with a photo.

Today we celebrated a birthday. We celebrated 101 years.

Think about that for a minute - - 101 years old.

If anything could recharge me today, it was simply watching this vibrant man, my grandfather, celebrate life with his family.

When we got home after the birthday party, my recharge continued. I officially took the day off from holiday tasks....

Anna and I took a two hour nap. Two hours! And I woke up so rested. I swear, naps are a wonder drug. I need to indulge more often. I felt so great.

Then, after an evening of holiday movies and treats, the kids were off to bed, and I watched my favorite movie of all time. Love Actually. I've been WAITING to watch it. It is the movie I usually save to wrap gifts by. But, I couldn't wait any longer.

I'm such a sap...I started crying at the first scene in the airport. "Love actually is all around." Damn right it is! (And although he won't admit it, Ray loves this movie, too. He can quote more lines that I can!)

  1. 101!? That's amazing for sure. How fortunate you all are to still have him in your lives.

  2. Your grandfather looks amazing, tell him Happy Birthday! My grandfather will be 93 next year and I am so grateful to still have him.
